Allison Mack Online Interviews "Chloe"
Allison Mack Online has landed a new scoop, with an all-new exclusive interview with Chloe Sullivan herself, Allison Mack.

Here's a brief tidbit:

"I think that Chloe always knew there was weird stuff with Clark and that was what I was sort of implying. It was like, 'I know you’re not normal. I know that there’s something funky going on with you and I know that you might have been affected by the meteor shower in some way,' but I think she had no idea to what extent and she had no idea that her suspicions were correct and that it was that intense. So, before, what I was implying was she was like 'I know that there’s something weird about you,' and I think that’s the big reason why she’s so attracted to him too, because she knows that there’s something different, something strange. But I think that the surprise and the sort of overwhelming reaction to when she actually found out that it was true was just like 'Holy crap, I didn’t know it was to this extent'."

"Blank" Review!

"Blank" Guest Spotlight
Somehow the spoiler that Jonathan Bennett would be playing this week's "Freak of the Week" flew by until we actually saw the episode.

If he looks familiar to you, you might remember him from the movie "Mean Girls." He also appeared on an episode of Veronica Mars earlier this year as the brainwashed Casey Gant.

You'll see Jonathan Bennett next on Tuesday night's Veronica Mars, as his character returns in the episode. Kyle Gallner (Bart Allen in "Run") also appears.

"Blank" Ratings
Consistent numbers to last week, but the competition seems to get closer.

Some of the last episodes of this season sound really good, so we can only hope that - plus the 8-minute appearance of a certain Caped Crusader in the season finale - will translate into better numbers. Keep in mind, also, that Smallville's Wednesday-night companions this year, The Mountain and Jack and Bobby, have had pretty dreadful ratings. (So bad that Smallville *repeats* in the J&B timeslot seemed to do better than new J&B episodes). Hopefully Smallville will have a more suitable companion next year.

America's Next Top Model still seems to be benefitting from starting its current "cycle" while Smallville and other shows were in repeats. Its numbers are consistently better than they were in the Fall.

Emmanuelle Vaugier Cast In Saw 2
Special thanks to: CFQ

CFQ.com has posted the scoop that Emmanuelle Vaugier, best known to Smallville fans as Dr. Helen Bryce in the show's second season, has signed on for a leading role in the upcoming sequel to the thriller movie Saw.

This high-profile project is a perfect addition to Vaugier's resume. A SciFi Channel original movie of Painkiller Jane is scheduled for later this year, and she also will be seen in House of the Dead 2: Dead Aim.

Saw 2 is scheduled for release this Fall. For more information, visit CFQ's website.

"Onyx" Ratings
In another example of one of the better episodes of Smallville going unseen in the ratings, last night's overnight ratings were a bit, well... disastrous. Apparently people were more interested in seeing Tyra Banks have a hissyfit than they cared to see Lex Luthor be a bad boy.

Let's hope that next season Smallville gets a new timeslot or a stronger companion, because coming behind repeats, a Pamela Anderson sitcom, Paris Hilton, and a UPN reality show is just embarrassing. To Smallville's credit, though, the show didn't air properly in several markets last night, and generally, the weeks after a really good episode tend to do well because of buzz.

I get to beat Clark up, I get to sword fight [Lionel]. But the best thing is, you know how you get [can] get tired of yourself? The best remedy is to beat the hell out of yourself. Smallville Season Five & Superman Returns Tie-In Not True
An account at the French-language website Ecranlarge makes the claim that a particular story element in Smallville's fifth season will cross-over with the 2006 Superman Returns movie.

The quote allegedly came from a discussion between Smallville creators Millar and Gough and Superman Returns director Bryan Singer.

However, reliable sources have told us that there must have been a mistranslation as we are told there is no truth to the rumor.

Sorry to those who had gotten their hopes up; those reading may want to spread the word about this.

Jeph Loeb Has "Spirit"
"Spirit" may be the name of an upcoming Smallville episode, but it's also the name of a classic comic book and comic strip character created by the late, legendary artist Will Eisner. "The Spirit" is headed to the movie screens soon, thanks to Odd Lot Entertainment and Batfilm Productions. The big treat is that this movie is going to be written by a Smallville favorite - the show's supervising producer and writer of several fan-favorite episodes, Jeph Loeb.

"The Spirit" was created in 1940, and is about a crime fighter named Denny Colt who is pronounced dead, but is actually reborn as a domino-mask wearing vigilante that calls himself "The Spirit." The Spirit has been reprinted in several deluxe hardcover volumes from DC Comics in recent years.

We caught up with Mr. Loeb for a statement about his new gig, and he was kind enough to oblige. Here's what he had to say:

"I'm thrilled to be part of the remarkable world of the THE SPIRIT. I will make every effort to live up to the impossible standard set by Will Eisner, a true artist, gentleman and genius. I've been a Spirit fan for as long as I can remember -- the imagery, the humor and the characters were such a gift that Eisner left for us. Michael Uslan and the folks at ODD LOT are the perfect place to make this movie -- they know exactly the right way to go and I can't wait to deliver it to them!"

Since Loeb has been writing and movies simultaneously with his Smallville duties, this new project won't affect his future with the show. Congratulations to Mr. Loeb on the new gig!

Fans of Jeph Loeb's work or Superman comics in general may also get a big kick out of the latest issue of Superman/Batman, which hit comic book stores today. No spoiling, but... it's gooooood.
