James
Marsters Talks About Playing "Brainiac" On Smallville E!
Online's Watch
With Kristin has posted an interview with actor James
Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) about his upcoming
role in Season Five of Smallville.
"It's
so cool. I mean, I'm very excited about Smallville,"
Marsters said to E!'s Kristin Veitch. "God, I had the best
dinner with [executive producer] Al Gough, and granted, he was
trying to seduce me into signing a contract with him, but I
was struck with how normal he was, how down-to-earth and how
much we talked about our families, and then about art. He was
interesting on a number of subjects, and I think he's got a
good mind. I like his brain with the Superman mythology. You
know, [Smallville] is a coming-of-age drama again, like
Buffy, and those are fabulous, because we're all coming
of age constantly. I'm always trying to grow up, so you know,
that story never gets old for anybody. 'Become yourself.' When
are you not gonna need to hear that? And so, I love that."
Marsters
revealed when his first episode will air, and what kind of accent
he will be sporting this time around.
For more Season 5 spoilers, including some pertaining to Marsters'
character of Milton Fine aka Brainiac, visit the KryptonSite
Spoilers Page. Recently updated!

KryptonSite
Interview: Jeph Loeb Talks About His Smallville Departure He's
long been associated with Superman through his comic book work,
and joined the Smallville team at the beginning of Season
2. He also scored very highly on KryptonSite fan polls for his
work on such favorite episodes as "Red," "Insurgence,"
"Legacy," and "Unsafe." Those who read his
comics often keep Supergirl and Superman/Batman
near the top of their "must read" pile. And soon,
you'll be seeing him over at Marvel Comics and writing a movie
based on Will Eisner's The Spirit.
Jeph
Loeb is a man of many talents, and has long been a supporter
and friend to this site and to Smallville. Loeb has moved
on from his post as a Supervising Producer on the show, but
he was kind enough to take the time to do an interview with
KryptonSite about his departure and reflect on his time with
the series.
Smallville
Finds Its "Buffy" In
every episode there is a Chosen One. She alone is cast among
many who audition to get a part. She alone is the Guest Star.
In
this case, the role of "Buffy Sanders" in the episode
"Thirst" has been filled by an actress named Brooke
Nevin, according to her official
website. Brooke is probably best known for her role
as Nikki Hudson in the first season of The
4400.
A
New Promotional Image!
TheWB.com has posted a new image promoting Smallville on
their main page. Looks like Lex is just inviting Clark to come
along to the dark side, doesn't it?
The

were a lot of surprises this year, and some usual winners were
absent. Who won for Favorite Couple? Best Actor? Favorite Episode?
Best Cliffhanger?
JLA Classified Cover Artist Provides His Vision Of Smallville
Those of you who picked up the most recent issue of DC Comics'
JLA Classified may have noticed the unique, digital 3D design
for a cover featuring Batman, and there are similar covers coming
up featuring other Justice League greats. So, what does this
have to do with Smallville, you ask?
Michael
Stribling, the artist of those covers, is a fan of the show
and also happens to be a KryptonSite visitor. He was kind enough
to share with us a special unpublished Smallville-related
piece that he's done. You can see the thumbnail next to this
article, or if you'd like to see it nice and large, click
here.
A
feature on Stribling's recent comics work can be found Newsarama.com.
He also tells us that if you like his work, to keep a special
eye out for next month's DC Comics solicitations. And hey, DC
- how about publishing this Smallville art someplace?

of Season 4's "Elements" storyline, Smallville
science, and more.
It
is the first issue in the magazine's new bi-monthly schedule.

her first full year on Smallville.
Miles Millar Talks Clana, More Directing
In some quotes left over from the July 22 press tour, Miles
Millar provided some answers about a directorial return
to Smallville -- and what to expect in the future for
the Clark and Lana relationship.
Jane Seymour Joins Modern Men
"Genevieve Teague" will be returning to the WB in
the midseason.
Jane
Seymour had joined the cast of the WB sitcom Modern Men.
No premiere date is known at this time aside from that it will
begin during the midseaseon. Seymour replaces Wendie Malick
who appeared in the unaired series pilot.
Modern
Men also features Max Greenfield, who fans of Veronica Mars
may remember as "Deputy Leo," so now there are two
reasons to watch when the show premieres!
Schneider Talks Season 5
In a new interview with Dave Mason in the Ventura
County Star, John Schneider talked about the upcoming
fifth season of Smallville -- and what that means for
the adoptive parents of Clark Kent.
