"Spirit"
Guest Revealed
Playing
"Dawn Stiles" in Smallville's Prom episode
"Spirit" is an actress named Beatrice Rosen.
Ms.
Rosen was set to star in the WB's Commando Nanny sitcom
which was cancelled before it ever even aired. She was one of
the stars of the movie "Chasing Liberty."

Jensen
Ackles As The Flash?
A
rumor report on Dark Horizons has stated that Jensen Ackles
(Jason) may have more than just a series pilot on the way.
The
article claims that Ackles is "in discussions" to
play the role of the Flash in a movie to be directed and written
by David S. Goyer (Blade: Trinity). The movie will have
no connection to the "Run" episode of Smallville,
where Kyle Gallner played the role of future Flash Bart Allen.
We
stress that this article has not been confirmed by official
sources, nor does it mean Ackles would definitely be taking
the role. It hasn't even been announced whether or not Ackles
is staying with Smallville! But, if you want to read
the complete article, click

Rosenbaum
Is "Cursed" This Weekend
Michael
Rosenbaum (Lex) is featured in the new Wes Craven film "Cursed"
which hits theaters this weekend. Michael plays a character
named Kyle. Also in the movie are Christina Ricci and Joshua
Jackson.
Michael
filmed this movie last year. When Michael received a letter
from Craven inviting him to be in the movie, he ended up framing
it, as Craven is one of his idols and Craven's "Nightmare
on Elm Street" is one of his favorites. "I did my
Freddy Krueger impression, thinking, 'Wes is a freak who's cool
and loves slasher flicks'," Michael told Teen Hollywood.
"I was wrong. He just looked at me and said, 'Yeah. Okay.
It's very nice to have you here.'"

thanks to: Pete Pappas & Max
Some fans of the Superman comic book series might have been
disappointed that the dog seen in "Krypto" was not
the breed of dog they were used to. Unfortunately, the original
"Krypto" wasn't a very good actor and thus had to
be replaced.
We
(well, at least KryptonSite webmaster Craig) think "Shelby"
did a fine job... but if any of you are curious what a real-life
Krypto may look like, check out the dog of Pete Pappas. His
name is "Max." And upon receiving his picture in our

The
New York Times Looks At Smallville
The
New
York Times today posted an article (registration required)
talking about Dr. Swann (Christopher Reeve)'s place in the Smallville
mythology. The article then went on to talk about the origins
of Smallville, and featured quotes from folks like Paul
Levitz and Smallville's executive producer Alfred Gough.
You can click
here to read it.
Some
highlights:
DC
Comics President/Publisher Paul Levitz talked about what makes
Smallville special. "The novelty of what Miles and Al did
was that wonderful, harmonic relationship between Clark's growing
up and Lex's growing up. You know where they're supposed to
end up, but you keep wondering whether Lex doesn't end up good,"
he said.
About
Lois in Season Five: "We think there's a good chance,"
Mr. Gough said carefully, "but we don't know yet."
And
in response to Margot Kidder's interview at the Superman Homepage
where she talked about her refusal to return in this week's
episode "Sacred," Gough had this to say: "We're
sorry she chose not to come back," he said. "We certainly
don't think what we were asking her to do was exploitative.
Christopher Reeve was a big part of the mythology of Smallville."
Gough
also mentioned another Lois Lane he'd like to see on the show.
"We'd love to have Teri Hatcher, but I don't think that
will ever happen," Gough said, referring to the actress
who is again a hot commodity thanks to Desperate Housewives.
Al, if you're reading - Dean Cain's not busy (hint! hint!)
- catch that boat before it sails away!
You

Margot
Kidder Talks About Not Returning As Dr. Crosby
The
Superman
Homepage's Barry Freiman caught up with Margot Kidder
(Dr. Bridgette Crosby) at the 2005 Cult TV Superhero Celebration
Superhero Expo. He asked her some questions about her Smallville
role and why Dr. Crosby was written out of the upcoming episode
"Sacred." Keep in mind there may be some spoilers
within this article, but then again, since the storyline has
been altered they might not be spoilers after all...
"We
had a contract problem and so I will not be returning,"
she said. "They offered me a part and then, for various
reasons, I ended up saying 'no'."
She
then goes into further detail and says "I thought it was
quite exploitive and I said so, but they (the Producers) didn't
see it that way. I mean, Christopher was my friend so to go
on and do a scene where I announce his death on Smallville
so that they can get publicity, it just seemed to me to be exploitive,
personally. Probably didn't to other people and so it just didn't
work. If you're going to get me to be exploitive, you're going
to have to pay me an awful lot of money."
Click
here to read the full interview with Kidder's thoughts on the
new Superman movie, recollections of her role as Lois Lane,
and more!
Keep
in mind that this interview is from Kidder's perspective and
that the producers may have decided not to go forward with Dr.
Crosby for reasons of their own. The interviewer also makes
several biased comments about Smallville that are a bit
unprofessional in this otherwise interesting piece.

"Pariah"
Makes The TV Guide Watercooler
TV
Guide's Damian Holbrook included Wednesday night's Smallville
in his "Watercooler"
rundown of the good TV he saw on the previous night. Here's
what he had to say about "Pariah":
"Aside
from the fact that Lois reminds me way too much of
Julie Cooper on The O.C., I am right there with this
show. It's so clever without being smart-alecky. Chloe blames
Lana's attack on Alicia's "meteor-induced powers"
and nobody bats an eye! And Jane Seymour as the baddie is
terrific with a capital English Breakfast T. Even if her Mommy
Dearest act with Jason gives me the bad-touch willies, I dig
that there's someone else stirring up Metropolis other than
Lionel, you know? It's just too bad about the time slot. This
one deserves a bigger audience. And we deserve to have better
dramas on the other nights of the week."
You
can click
here to see what else Holbrook was buzzing about. Thanks
to Rob for the tip.

Battle
of the Lexes!
Michael
Rosenbaum (Lex) appeared on Last Call With Carson Daly
earlier this week, and in the appearance he told the host about
an encounter he recently had with actor Kevin Spacey, who is
playing Lex Luthor in the 2006 Superman movie.
"All
of a sudden, I feel a tap on my shoulder, and he was like, 'Well,
if it isn't the former Lex Luthor'," Michael said. "And
I turn around, and I go, 'Yeah, I'm playing him before he's
fat and ugly.' And he just looked at me - he's like, 'Real cute,
Rosenbaum, real cute'."
Not
sure we like the "former" Lex Luthor comment, but
Michael does deserve kudos for the witty comeback.
