smallvilleFor the episode "Check-mate," director Tim Scanlan used some very different techniques - including some freeze frame action that looked like it came right out of a comic book. A sequence of the episode - where Clark saves Chloe in this freeze-frame type motion - was voted the Best Special Effect of Season 10.

2,610 people - a little over 30% - picked this as their favorite.

Coming in second place was John Jones reverting to his true Martian form in "Absolute Justice," with 1,833 votes; and just behind that by only 10 votes was Clark zooming in to the rescue after Lois was thrown by Zod in "Salvation." Very close race for #2 there.
