Triplet's "Metallo" Review! KryptonSite's reviewer C.M. Houghton (aka "Triplet") has posted her review of the second episode of Smallville's ninth season.
"Rabid" Ratings Smallville ended up with 2.3 million viewers this week, and did better than both ABC and FOX in the "adults 18-49" demographics.

"Echo" Preview Trailer Screen Captures! Thanks to Rosey, we now have screen captures from the preview for the October 16 episode of Smallville - "Echo!"
"Metallo" Ratings Smallville went down a little bit from last week in the overnight ratings, with the number surely to change (for better or for worse) with final totals, considering the show was pre-empted by baseball in the NYC market. (WPIX, you suck!)
On the bright side, though, the show didn't fall as sharply as Dollhouse did on FOX, which ended up with only 2.09 million this week (Ouch.) And it does seem like everything but Law & Order went down a little from last week. The Top Model repeat following Smallville had a preliminary rating of 1.43 million viewers - wouldn't the Friday 9PM slot be better served with Vampire Diaries encores?
In the "adults 18-49" demographic Smallville also beats FOX's Brothers and came close to matching ABC's Flashfoward repeat.

For Those Who May Have Missed It: "Savior" Is Now On iTunes The Smallville Season 9 premiere is now on iTunes and is apparently one of the top sellers in the TV category.
Season Premiere Ratings: How Did Smallville Do? The overnight TV ratings are now out, and as some expected, Smallville's first Friday night had significantly lower ratings than the show had before.
With that said... it still beats most of The CW's lineup on other days of the week. It's unfortunate, though, that the folks who didn't see the show on Friday night, or those who might have had audio problems on their local affiliates, won't get a second-chance "encore" like The CW had given some of its other shows.
Also unsurprising? The America's Next Top Model "encore" at 9PM had only 1.17 million viewers. How about a more compatible show to pair with?
The CW did say this, however, in a press release (Yes, they said something nice about the show for once!):
The premiere of SMALLVILLE scored our best performance in the Friday 8pm hour among adults 18-34 (1.0/4), adults 18-49 (1.0/4) and total viewers (2.5mil) in a year (Sept. 26 2008 – Smackdown).
Versus premiere night last year, Smallville outperformed our comedies by 25% in adults 18-49 and 25% in total viewers.

Update Regarding The Revised Art For Smallville Season 8 Blu-ray DVD Warner Home Video recently released artwork for the Blu-ray version of Smallville: The Complete Eighth Season which featured different artwork from the art used for the standard edition DVD.
While the artwork does not feature any of the series cast, it must definitely be pointed out that this is a very nice-looking, classy image.
TVShowsOnDVD.com has uncovered the truth of the variation - the "Metropolis cityscape" version of the DVD will indeed be released, but as a "store exclusive" limited to a certain retail outlet. (Which one? They - and we - don't know). The regular retail release for both standard DVD and Blu-ray will feature Tom Welling and Erica Durance, as originally shown.
KryptonSite Interview: Bryan Q. Miller Talks Teen Titans, Batgirl, Smallville & More Popular Smallville writer Bryan Q. Miller ("Committed," "Hex") wrote the recent issue (#72) of DC Comics' Teen Titans which can now be found in comic book specialty shops, and he has a new Batgirl comic series in addition to Season 9 of Smallville in his future.
Mr. Miller was kind enough to grant us an e-mail interview where he talks about his comics work... and he may tease his first Season 9 Smallville story a little bit in the process!
Kneel Before Blue: Callum Blue Is Zod British actor Callum Blue of Dead Like Me and Related fame has been cast in the role of Zod in Season 9, the Hollywood Reporter has revealed.
Blue's other credits include Secret Diary of a Call Girl and The Tudors.
TV Guide is reporting that Callum Blue will make his first appearance in the season premiere, and he will be a series regular.
Whether or not Zod happens to also be "Mason" remains to be seen. Unfortunately, this seems to confirm that Sam Witwer will not be returning to Smallville.
Metallo Comes To Smallville In Season 9 TV Guide has revealed that Beverly Hills 90210 andTerminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles alum Brian Austin Green has been cast in "at least the first two episodes of Season 9" as Superman comics villain "Metallo."
Smallville Nominated For Some Teen Choice Awards! Smallville has been nominated in several categories in the 2009 Teen Choice Awards.
Smallville was nominated in the following categories. Apparently they haven't seen a cast list from the past season. ;)
Choice TV Show - Action/Adventure:Smallville Choice TV Actor - Action/Adventure: Tom Welling Choice TV Actress - Action/Adventure: Kristin Kreuk Choice TV: Villain: Michael Rosenbaum Choice TV: Sidekick: Allison Mack
The CW's Smallville Season 9 Promotional Image The CW released an image to advertisers when promoting Season 9, and in doing so created a weirdly Photoshopped picture where Tom Welling's Season 8 head is on his Season 6 body, and Erica Durance has Kristin Kreuk's body!
The promo also lists "Sam Witwer as Davis Bloome" as part of the cast, so it may also be outdated. Although, oddly, Aaron Ashmore as Henry Jimmy is not listed, so they got something right! This same image can also be found on the CW's official site, with some equally-badly-Photoshopped images from 90210, Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, and more.
Caroline Dries Joins Slavkin & Swimmer On Melrose Place KryptonSite has learned that Caroline Dries, who wrote several Smallville episodes including "Cyborg," "Action," "Infamous," and "Stiletto," will be joining former Smallville executive producers/writers Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer as part of the writing staff of The CW's new Melrose Place, coming this Fall.
The show will air on Tuesday nights following 90210.
The CW Confirms Smallville's Friday-Night Move; Issues Official Press Release The CW has confirmed that Smallville will indeed be moving to Fridays at 8PM for Season 9, and they have issued an official press release detailing Season 9. (Note that they do not refer to it as "the final season" anywhere).

Smallville: The Official Magazine To End With Issue #34, Details Of The Final Two Issues Are Released We received an e-mail today from the editor of Smallville: The Official Magazine, clearing up some rumors and confirming that issue #34 is in the final issue but detailing the contents of the magazine's final two issues.
Smallville Moves To... Fridays at 8?!?! The CW hasn't formally announced their Fall 2009 schedule, but many media outlets are reporting that The CW has placed their new series The Vampire Diaries in Smallville's timeslot and is moving Smallville to anchor Friday nights at 8PM.
The Vampire Diaries stars Paul Wesley (nee Wasilewski) and Ian Somerhalder, who appeared on Smallville as Lucas Dunleavy-Luthor and Adam Knight, respectively. Nina Dobrev (Degrassi: The Next Generation) also stars, and it seems the show is being created to target the Twilight vampire phenomenon, even though the original Vampire Diaries novels were published several years earlier.
The network will be officially confirming their schedules tomorrow, though several sources are confirming that this is indeed accurate. Also, with Smallville entering its ninth (and possibly final) season, the network is going to aim to build a new Thursday night.
NBC Passes On Rosenbaum's New Sitcom Project Nikki Finke's Deadline Hollywood Daily is reporting that NBC has passed on Michael Rosenbaum's sitcom project where he would play one of three adult siblings.
So if it is true that we won't get some Rosenbaum on our television sets every week, maybe any producers reading this could set aside to bring back one of our favorite bald villains sooner rather than later...? Hey, it was worth a try!
Bryan Q. Miller Takes On Batgirl & The Teen Titans Smallville writer Bryan Q. Miller ("Committed," "Bulletproof," "Hex") will be writing more characters from the DC Comics Universe soon as he will soon be writing a few projects for the comic book publisher.Miller has a story arc for DC's Teen Titans coming up starting in June with issue #72, and then he will be writing the new ongoing Batgirl comic book series.
These comics won't spell the end for Miller's time with Smallville; he will indeed be back full-time with the series for Season 9.

Season Finale Ratings For "Doomsday" Ouch.Despite a lot of promotion and hype leading into the season finale, "Doomsday" ended up with some of the lowest overnight ratings in the show's history.Perhaps ratings will go up a little when the final numbers are out. Laura Vandervoort & Tahmoh Penikett Sign On For Riverworld As if playing "Lisa" in ABC's upcoming V reinvention wasn't enough - Laura Vandervoort (Kara) has also signed on to star alongside Tahmoh Penikett of the Smallville episodes "Resurrection" and "Prototype" (as well as Battlestar Galactica and Dollhouse) in a four-hour Sci-Fi Channel miniseries titled Riverworld.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Penikett will play war correspondent Matt Ellman, a man who is killed along with his fiancee (Laura Vandervoort) but awakens in a mysterious world populated by everyone who has lived on Earth.
The article claims that this could serve as a pilot for a series; however, with Penikett and Vandervoort possibly having other series this Fall, that might not be happening.
The mini-series will film soon and air next year.
Sci-Fi has also picked up a four-hour miniseries based on the classic comic strip character The Phantom. Ryan Carnes (Desperate Housewives and Doctor Who) has signed on to play the lead. Let's hope that one fares better than Eric Johnson's Flash Gordon did.

This Week's Ratings "Hex"ed By Idol American Idol had its results show on Thursday night for a change this week, which doubled the usual FOX ratings for Bones. However, Smallville did grow from last week's overnights, which were some of the lowest in the show's history.

As a few news sources had initially reported, it has now been confirmed that the CW has picked up six of its successful series for another year.Smallville joins Gossip Girl, 90210, America's Next Top Model, One Tree Hill, and Supernatural. Regarding Smallville specifically, TV Week's Joseph Adalian said this:
"In the case of “Smallville,” producer Warner Bros. Television had been negotiating with series star Tom Welling to return. The CW’s renewal indicates the studio was successful in those conversations."

It's Official: Slavkin & Swimmer Depart For Melrose Place As previously rumored, two of Smallville's showrunners, Todd Slavkin & Darren Swimmer, will be departing the show to helm the CW's new revival of Melrose Place. The news was confirmed today in the Los Angeles Times and in Entertainment Weekly.
The report also states that a greenlight for more Smallville, under remaining producers Kelly Souders & Brian Peterson, is likely for Fall 2009.

Triplet's "Power" Review! What was it about the January 29 episode of Smallville that earned it the lowest rating ever since "Triplet" began writing reviews for KryptonSite?
"Requiem" Ratings! Kristin Kreuk's goodbye episode gave Smallville decent ratings for February 5. They were down a little from last week, but considering last week was up against mostly reruns, a loss of only 300,000 viewers isn't too bad.

Rosenbaum Talks Smallville - Briefly - In Interview About Batman: The Brave And The Bold Smallville's "Lex Luthor," Michael Rosenbaum, returned to the world of DC Comics characters on Friday, January 16 performing the voice of Deadman on the Cartoon Network's new Batman animated series, The Brave And The Bold.
James Harvey-Richardson of the World's Finest website has interviewed Rosenbaum about his new role, and he had this to say about a Smallville return:
"I don't think anyone has really let the idea that I'm not coming back actually sink in. I find it flattering. Do I miss the series? I miss the people. I will always cherish the fun times I had on the set of Smallville."
Michael Rosenbaum Willing To Return For The Series' Final Episodes? The Windy City Times recently caught up with Michael Rosenbaum, where they talked about his career - past, present, and future - and the subject of a return to Smallville did come up... but there's a stipulation.
"I told the producers that I would only come back for the last episode or two if they let me wear a bald cap. I just grew my hair out," he said.
He also revealed in the interview that the producers have already attempted to bring him back. "They have asked me to come back a few times. People think they have seen me on the show since then but I found out they have been using body doubles to pretend that it's me. I don't know how fair that is to the fans," he says.
"Legion" Ratings! Smallville's return didn't get "Justice"-style numbers but it was an improvement over the first returning-from-hiatus episode last year. It also got about double what 90210 had this week on The CW.
Ratings are a little skewed because an address from U.S. President George W. Bush interrupted regular programming for fifteen minutes on the East Coast, forcing the other networks to all run repeats in the hour. CBS was helped also by an eventful CSI at 9 which put things into their favor.

Deal Close For Tom Welling & Smallville Season 9? Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello has posted some good news for those of us who are hoping for a ninth season of Smallville starring Tom Welling.
Question: Any news as to whether Tom Welling has signed on for another season of Smallville? -- Scarlett
Ausiello: Yes, there's news, and it's good. Some would even call it, ahem, super. According to a well-placed Smallville insider, Welling is nearing a deal to return for a ninth season. I'm told they're just ironing out some minor deal points, such as should the Brinks Truck pull into the actor's driveway, or just unload on the street.

People Seem Excited... Perhaps it was one of the many elements of "Bride" that had people excited... or perhaps it's the promotional trailer that featured the Legion of Super-Heroes that have people talking... but either way, KryptonSite (and its forum) has had its highest traffic ever in recent days. Thanks to all of you for that. Let's hope that this excitement will continue into the new year.
For those of you who missed the preview of what's to come in January, here are some preview screen captures: January 2009 Preview Caps
Even as the show goes to a hiatus during the holidays, KryptonSite will continue to be updated frequently, so keep coming back! Thanks as always for being KryptonSite visitors.
DVD Column: Doctor Who: The Complete Fourth Series In the third installment of KryptonSite's DVD review column, Craig again visits his favorite British science fiction adventure series - Doctor Who!
"Bride" Ratings! Smallville's wedding extravaganza didn't pull 5 million viewers but still brought the show some of its best ratings all season. Hopefully most of these viewers will still be around on January 15 when the series returns with new episodes.

"Bride" Promo Screencaps - Featuring Lana and DOOMSDAY! Thanks to Rosey, we already have screen captures from the promotional trailer to the next episode of Smallville!
The episode "Bride" features a wedding, the return of Lana, a possible new romance, and our first look at DOOMSDAY, Smallville style!
"Bloodline" Ratings: Way Up... Smallville had a very good night on November 6, where, despite little on-air promotion, the return of Kara (Laura Vandervoort) may have brought some eyes back to the show. If only they could've gotten her to stay through to "Legion" (which was never a plan, as far as we know, but would have been cool just the same!)
Keep in mind that the ratings may be slightly inflated due to the show's pre-emption in Denver, but even so, the numbers should be good.

"Abyss" Promo Screencaps! Thanks to Rosey, we already have screen captures from the promotional trailer to the next episode of Smallville!
The CW Scraps Plans For "The Graysons" Smallville executive producers Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders had been working with Supernatural's McG on a project taking on another DC Comics legend - Robin - in a series called "The Graysons." Unfortunately, trade paper reports confirm rumors that the series will not come to be.
Variety reveals that Warner Bros. Pictures' Jeff Rubinov was the one to pull the plug, claiming that Rubinov initially gave his blessing but changed his mind in recent days.
"The studio has opted not to go forward with the development of 'The Graysons' at this time as the concept doesn't fit the current strategy for the Batman franchise," the studio said in a statement. "Warner Bros. Television is currently working on several replacement options for the CW."
A failure to launch for The Graysons may very well improve the chances of a Smallville Season 9 - or it could hopefully mean something even better than The Graysons should come down the pipeline. Stay tuned.
"Legion" Casting Update: Alexz Johnson Confirmed As Saturn Girl Last week, we posted the rumor here on KryptonSite that Alexz Johnson (Instant Star) will be playing Imra Ardeen (a.k.a Saturn Girl) in the "Legion" epsiode of Smallville.
The Alexz Johnson fan site Alexzworld has now confirmed this news.
Screen Captures From A "Bloodline" Scene - Featuring The Return Of Kara! Mr. Video has sent us screen captures of a scene from the November 6 episode of Smallville, "Bloodline."
The images feature Tom Welling and Laura Vandervoort with a brief glimpse of Erica Durance.
"Identity" Ratings! Smallville continues to do well for The CW, and hopefully these ratings will be thought of when a decision is made about Season 9. (Just if there is, please pay Tom Welling whatever it takes to come back for another year!)

"Committed": What Did You Think? What did you think of this week's new Smallville?
Talk about it on the KryptonSite Forum - the web's largest discussion board for the series. A forum for "Committed" can be found here.
Here are some other extras associated with the episode that hopefully you will enjoy:
Screen Captures From The "Committed" Canadian Promotional Trailer! Thanks to Cyn, we now have screen captures from the Canadian SPACE Channel trailer for this week's episode, "Instinct!"
The episode does not air until Saturday in Canada; of course, you can see it tonight (October 16) on The CW here in the United States.
Smallville Sweeps Spoilers From The CW: Laura Vandervoort's Return Confirmed! The CW has revealed their plans for November sweeps, and in those plans are new spoilers for the "Bloodline" and "Abyss" episodes of Smallville.
They also confirm Laura Vandervoort's return to the series!
Street Fighter: The Legend Of Chun-Li Poster! Kristin Kreuk (Lana) missed five episodes of Smallville Season Seven to star in the movie Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, which is due for release in February 2009.
The poster art for the film has appeared on a Japanese promotional site (which explains it being in Japanese). Kristin looks fantastic, although our hopes for the movie itself aren't very high.
Since the movie is due out in just four months, a trailer should be coming soon.

A Message From Souders & Peterson Regarding "The Graysons" Smallville's executive producers Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders have written in with a message to the fans at KryptonSite, clearing up some reports that had been made implying that Smallville may be on its way out...
Dear Smallville fans,
As news and rumors swirl around the development of The Graysons for the CW, we have every intention of letting you, our fans, be the first to know the reality. Never have we been so committed to the continuing success of Smallville as we are to seasons 8 and 9. While we are extremely excited to be working hand-in-hand with Wonderland, Warner Bros. and the CW to create the origin story of Dick Grayson, it has never been intended as a replacement for Smallville, as is speculated in some media. The cast, crew, writers and producers are all working full-steam ahead on a story-line for Clark that allows for seasons of further trials and adventures for our favorite hero. As always, we all have you to thank for achieving eight years of this amazing show that Al and Miles created, and we're looking far beyond!
Brian Peterson & Kelly Souders
Smallville's Souders & Peterson Fly With "The Graysons" The CW may have found their Smallville replacement, or at least a companion series if the show should go for another year.
Variety has announced that Smallville executive producers Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders will soon be taking on another DC Comics legend - Robin - in a series called "The Graysons." Supernatural executive producer McG will also be involved.
Not many details are known about the project at this time. Obviously this series will take place before Robin meets Batman, and before his acrobatic family is murdered. The series will feature young Dick Grayson, who for some reason is using the nickname "D.J.," as "he will face challenges involving first loves, young rivals and his family as he grows up."
Stay tuned for more information when and if it becomes available.
Erica Durance To Appear On The Bonnie Hunt Show Friday! Erica Durance (Lois) will be appearing on The Bonnie Hunt Show on Friday to talk about Smallville and her appreciation for her fans. Check your local listings or BonnieHunt.com for exact air times in your area.
"Plastique" Ratings! This week's episode of Smallville dropped only a little despite new heavy competition from Survivor and Ugly Betty.
Hopefully next week's Green Arrow origin story will give things a bit of a bump up.

Season Premiere Ratings: 4.38 Million! Season 8 of Smallville premiered to great ratings despite not getting the same on-air promotion as Dawn Ostroff's favorite series Gossip Girl and 90210.
The show performed especially well in several key demographics. Supernatural - which followed Smallville - was also off to a very good start. (On the chart below, the show may still seem on the bottom, but keep in mind certain demographics in which it scored ahead of some of the competition, and even came in #1.)
Things are still down from last year's 5-million viewer season premiere, but are still impressive considering the lack of on-air promotion and the fact that some very popular actors from previous seasons are no longer with the show.

of Smallville on Tuesday, August 26 at
8PM (ET).
The
episode they will be showing will be none other
than the blockbuster "Justice" teaming
Clark up with the other members of the future
Justice League - Bart "Impulse" Allen,
Oliver "Green Arrow" Queen, Arthur "Aquaman"
Curry, and Victor "Cyborg" Stone.
Following
the episode will be a repeat of the first-season
finale of Reaper for those of you who missed it the first time
around.
We're
not totally sure why The CW is trying out Smallville on a Tuesday night; maybe it's a potential timeslot
change once Privileged tanks, or perhaps
they're testing the waters for a Justice spin-off
(please!?!?) Either way, be sure to watch on August
26... and then a few weeks later, on September
18, Season Eight begins!

More
Comic-Con Scoops! KryptonSite
was able to interview the actors and producers
at Comic-Con. Those need to be transcribed, but
for those of you who just can't wait, here are
some tidbits:
-
Allison Mack will be directing either episode
#13 or #15 this season. She was originally going
to direct back in Season 7, but her directorial
plans were scuttled by the writers' strike. Allison
also revealed that Chloe will not be in much of
that episode.
- Justin Hartley is growing out a beard for a
scene that will take place on an island.
- The DC Comics character of Maxima will indeed
be in episode #4.
- Erica Durance as Lois factors heavily into the
first four episodes and the opportunity to use
her for more than 12 or 13 episodes is definitely
there.
Smallville At Comic-Con 2008! The Smallville panel is today at the Comic-Con
International in San Diego, and you can expect
updates from the panel as well as some very cool
interviews here after the event.
Scheduled
to appear at the panel (first thing in the morning,
from 10-11am) will be Allison Mack (Chloe), Justin Hartley (Oliver), Cassidy Freeman (Tess), and Sam Witwer (Davis/Doomsday),
alongside new showrunners Kelly Souders, Brian
Peterson, Todd Slavkin, and Darren Swimmer. Exclusive new clips will be shown, and the panel
will be moderated by Smallville alum amd Heroes producer Jeph Loeb!
So,
if you're at the Con, be sure to make it so you
can meet both of the new cast members in addition
to seeing some old favorites, and then come back
here later for updates!
Geoff
Johns To Pen Smallville Legion of Super-Heroes
Episode! Noted
comic book author (and writer of the upcoming
"Legion of Three Worlds" comic book) Geoff Johns will soon be writing an episode
of Smallville in Season 8, as announced
at the Comic-Con International in San Diego.
This
may have been the biggest news to come from the
panel (though more will be posted in the upcoming
day, as soon as Craig returns to L.A.!)
If
the name is familiar... it could be because "Geoff
Johns" was the name of a character back in
Season 4's "Recruit."

The
New Cast Members: The Official Press Release! The
CW has issued an official press release about
the additions of Sam Witwer and Cassidy
Freeman to Smallville's eighth season.
The release incudes some new details about the
characters - including a last name for Tess and
a new job for the erstwhile "Doomtender!"
Tess
& "Davis Bloome" Are Cast! Michael
Ausiello (formerly of TV Guide, headed to Entertainment Weekly) has
revealed that the roles of "Tess" and
erstwhile Doomsday "Davis Bloome" have
been cast.
"Davis
Bloome," aka Doomsday, will be played by Battlestar Galactica alum Sam Witwer,
who played Alex "Crashdown" Quatraro
on the series.
The
role of Tess will be filled by Cassidy Freeman,
who was actually Justin Hartley's leading lady
in the failed CW pilot Austin Golden Hour.
Now
that the Season 8 cast has been set, let's see
some promotional photos already! Thanks again

Justin
Hartley Returns As Series Regular For Season 8 E!
Online's Kristin Dos Santos is reporting that
she has received confirmation that Justin Hartley
will be returning to Smallville in Season
Eight, not as a guest star, but as a series regular.
Hartley
has a talent holding deal with The CW network,
and his recent pilot, Austin Golden Hour, was not picked up as a series.
It
is said that Oliver's story arc will delve into
his past rather than his superheroic identity
as the Green Arrow.
While
we're green with excitement about this news, what
we'd really like to see is a Green
Arrow spin-off series. Maybe this return for
the Green Arrow will make that happen (and make
Warner Bros. forget that silly "Green Arrow
in prison" movie idea!)
In
other news, CW representatitves have also told
Dos Santos that Kristin Kreuk is scheduled to
appear in six or seven episodes of Season Eight
- with the exact number of shows yet to be determined.

Laura
Vandervoort Out For Season 8 Many
online sources are confirming that Laura Vandervoort (Kara) will not be returning as a series
regular in Season 8. This confirms speculation
that surfaced when
she was not on the cast list in the CW's press
release.
When
we last saw Kara, in "Arctic," she was
somewhere within the Phantom Zone.
"They
announced the cast... and I'm not a part of it,"
Vandervoort told TV Guide's Matt Mitovich.
"We were all surprised when they chose not
to bring me back as a regular, but I'm sure I'll
be back for one or two [episodes]!"
Vandervoort
seems to have a good attitude about the whole
thing. "The show is about Clark Kent, and
I was honored to be a part of it. I mean, my character
became more than it was supposed to be. She ended
up sticking around the entire season," she
told Ausiello.
What's
Next? The
season may be over, but it's not the end of Smallville...
Season
Eight is scheduled to begin in September... and
already, some details have been released about
what to expect for next year - some people are

some new characters on the way!
The

Chloe In The Comics After All
Several months ago, it was announced that the character
of Chloe Sullivan would be making her way into DC Comics
Superman continuity in issue #674 of the Superman comic
book, due out next month; unfortunately, it seems that
will no longer be happening.
Chloe
is an exciting character on the television show, and we
had hoped to work her into DC continuity, but unfortunately,
the stars did not align properly, and even though we had
announced it, she will not be appearing in any of the
issues of Superman or Action Comics,"
DC Comics Executive Editor Dan DiDio said in an interview
today at Newsarama.com.
We'll
let you know if we hear of plans changing with this. At
this moment, details are not available about what "stars
did not align properly."

Unfortunately,
the writers' strike is still ongoing, and it's looking
like we're going to end up with a shorter season unless
some miracle happens very soon. Remember, though, that
six episodes of Smallville remain so be sure to
watch - good ratings for those mean The CW will have no
choice but to give us an eighth season!

It
Appears We Have Our Patricia Swann... The
official website of actress Gina Holden has revealed
that she has recently booked a role on Smallville
which began filming this week. As the episode "Traveler"
is now shooting, that makes it VERY likely that Holden
is playing the role of Patricia Swann, daughter of Dr.
Virgil Swann from the show's early seasons.
Holden
already has a Smallville connection, too, as she
plays the love interest of one time "Whitney"
Eric Johnson on the SciFi Channel's Flash Gordon
series.
We
don't know yet how many episodes will feature Patricia,
but "Traveler" will be the character's first
appearance.
