The new season of Smallville begins tonight at 9PM on the WB!

Last time we visited the fine folks of Smallville, Clark left Chloe at the dance so he could go save Lana, who was about to blow away with Whitney's truck. Lex was faced with a tough decision, and Jonathan and Roger Nixon went off into the storm. Oh yeah, there's also the whole issue of Clark's spaceship... curious about what happens next? We know we are!

To celebrate the occasion of the new season, KryptonSite is now beginning the process of another across-the-site redesign. The new episode guides will be up and posted soon, and the very first item in the Columns archive is now posted! Please e-mail us and let us know what you think, and what more you'd like to see -- we're still in a period of change, and what you see today might not be the final design. Also, you might see some of the old design on some of the other pages, and it'll be a while before we can totally get rid of that. Let us know what you think!

It has been brought to our attention that it's becoming quite a tradition on campus for people to have Smallville parties on Tuesday nights to watch the new episodes of the show. Really, a good amount of fans of Smallville happen to be in college, and it is our goal as a site to be able to acommodate them.

At KryptonSite's new Smallville College Page, one can find a directory of where Tuesday-night Smallville parties may be on campus, and they can also get to a message board with such events in mind. There are even some partiest planned for this week, so be sure to visit, and visit often!

Also coming soon to the college page: A Smallville drinking game! All we can say now is pray Lana doesn't mention her dead parents too much, or you could be wasted by hour's end.

USA Weekend did a feature on television show spoilers in their Sept. 20-22 issue, and their article, on page 17, featured a photo of Tom Welling and Kristin Kreuk from "Vortex" alongside an article with details about the new season!

The article also mentioned KryptonSite as a place to go "for more on Smallville." Because the article is somewhat spoiler-intensive, you'll have to go to USA Weekend's website to read it or pick up a copy in newspapers across the United States.

Newsarama.com has posted some preview panels from the Smallville comic book last week, and now KryptonSite follows suit with some new images of our own.

The comic includes stories by Smallville writer Mark Verheiden and what looks like fantastic artwork by Roy Allan Martinez and John Paul Leon. Included will also be features about the show's production and upcoming season.

Tuesday night's repeat of "Obscura" ended with a treat: a new preview of "Vortex," the second season premiere of Smallville, which is airing in less than two weeks!

It's Back: Planet Krypton: The KryptonSite Newsletter

Before there was a KryptonSite, there was Planet Krypton, an online newsletter devoted to the television series Lois & Clark. The newsletter evolved and began covering Smallville news, and that then it evolved again into what eventually became this very website.

Over the past year we've fallen behind with newsletter updates, even though many people did sign up at Yahoo! to receive the newsletter.

We still believe that this website is a far more effective tool in getting the word out, much more effective than a newsletter. However, those of you who would like to be kept abreast of new and big things to show up at KryptonSite are encouraged and welcomed to sign up for the new Planet Krypton. It's free, it may smell a little bit like spam, but at least it'd be spam about good stuff, right? While you're there you can read some of the older newsletters, including some that were written when Smallville was only in development!

Roger Stern Talks "Strange Visitors" In KryptonSite Interview
Author Roger Stern, who is well liked among comics fans for his great comics featuring Superman, the Will Payton Starman, the Avengers, Spider-Man, the Hobgoblin, and more, also happens to be the writer of the first Smallville novel, which is due out in October. The title of the novel is "Strange Visitors," and Mr. Stern was kind enough to answer several questions here at KryptonSite.
