G.I. Joe: Season Two

The first season was a hit, and then in 1986 they decided to go for it again.

The second season, complete with new opening credits, started with the introduction of new COBRA emperor Serpentor, which of course was a development that COBRA Commander was not too fond of. Newer characters such as Beach-Head, Dr. Mindbender, the pacifist Lifeline, and Zartan's siblings Zandar and Zarana were introduced, and General Hawk was brought to the forefront as the definitive G.I. Joe leader.

After the "Arise, Serpentor, Arise," there were 25 more new episodes, bringing the total number of episodes to ninety-five. You might want to notice that besides the mini-series, *none* of the Season 2 episodes were multi-part stories.

ARISE, SERPENTOR, ARISE
MINI-SERIES

The second season started with this mini-series as Cobra Commander used his new Battle Android Troopers (BATs) to attack the Joe team. Of course he is not successful, as new Joe trainer Sgt. Slaughter makes mincemeat of them.

Fed up with Cobra Commander's constant failure, Dr. Mindbender decides to create a new COBRA leader - an emperor who is created from the DNA of some of the world's most notorious villains. When the plan to get the DNA of one person fails, they go after the DNA of Sgt. Slaughter.

A sabotage by Cobra Commander resulted in the initial "Serpentor" creation being a blobby monster. Things were soon perfected and COBRA soon had a new emperor.
