Tyler Hoechlin Is “Honored & Humbled” To Play Superman On Supergirl

hoechlincostumehoechlincostumeTV’s latest Man of Steel has spoken!

Tyler Hoechlin, who was recently cast to play Superman on Supergirl in Season 2, took to Twitter to express his excitement.

“Could not be more honored & humbled to be given the opportunity to play this incredible & beloved character,” he Tweeted. “Can’t wait to get to work!”

Hoechlin is the sixth actor to play a live-action version of Clark Kent on a television series (we are not counting voice actors, or folks like John Rockwell who played Superboy in a failed TV series pilot). Preceding him were George Reeves (on The Adventures of Superman), John Haymes-Newton and Gerard Christopher (Superboy), Dean Cain (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman), and Tom Welling (Smallville).
