Tom Welling’s Section 13 Pilot Is Not Moving Forward

For those Smallville fans who were waiting for Tom Welling’s TV return, you may have to wait longer: His new series Section 13 is not happening.

Direct quote from TV Line about whether or not there’s been news:

“There is news, and it’s… not super. Matt Mitovich asked around, and the Smallville vet’s espionage-themed CBS project is sadly not moving forward.”

The super-wishful-thinkers might think this could free Tom up to playing Superman on Supergirl, but, we’re still not holding any Super-breath for that. (Though if we’re wrong on that, we’ll gladly eat crow. Caw! Caw!)

  • It occurs to me, with the multiverse being introduced on our DC tv shows via The Flash, if they do cast Tom Welling as Superman, that could actually pave the way to revisit the Smallville universe under the guise of the multiverse. That would just be awesome.

    Sorry to see Tom's project not move forward. Hope he finds more success with or without the red cape.
