Superman & Lois Casts CW Kung Fu Favorite in Season 4

Superman & Lois Season 4 has cast a fan-favorite actress from The CW’s Kung Fu in a recurring role.

EW.com revealed today that Yvonne Chapman, whose credits also include the recent Netflix adaptation of Avatar the Last Airbender, has been cast as Amanda McCoy. McCoy is a character from the Superman comics, first appearing way back in Superman #2 which was written and drawn by John Byrne back in 1987.

The EW article says the character is described as “intelligent, cunning and loyal” and is the most trusted ally of Lex Luthor in his vendetta against Superman and Lois. She has been the acting leader of LuthorCorp while Lex has been gone, and she’s brought the company to new heights. (In many ways, she sounds like Smallville’s Tess Mercer when she first appeared, right?) The description for the character continues to say this:

“Little is known about her mysterious past, but she’s the only one in Luthor’s inner circle that he views as an equal, which makes her a massive threat to the Kents… and anyone else who stands in her way.”

Superman & Lois Season 4 premieres this Fall on The CW, and if you haven’t seen Yvonne Chapman on Kung Fu, you really should fix that. Every season can be found on CWTV.com and The CW app.

Craig Byrne

Craig Byrne has been writing about Superman TV since 1995, when the "Lois & Clark Krypton Club" launched. He founded KryptonSite.com in February 2001, becoming the first fan site for The WB/CW television series Smallville. He also wrote the Official Companion books for Smallville seasons 4-7 as well as the Smallville Visual Guide.
