Superman: Legacy Adds Nathan Fillion & Two Others

With today being exactly two years from the planned release date of Superman: Legacy, Vanity Fair has the scoop on who will be in three more roles in the highly-anticipated James Gunn film.

The first of the three roles is that of the most obnoxious Green Lantern, Guy Gardner. Nathan Fillion, who has worked with James Gunn in The Suicide Squad and with small roles in the Guardians of the Galaxy films, has landed the role. Fillion is best known, of course, for his leading roles in Castle, Firefly and The Rookie; some interesting trivia is that he played the Green Lantern Hal Jordan in a direct-to-DVD animated film a few years back.

But that’s not all: Isabela Merced (Dora and the Lost City of Gold) will be playing Hawkgirl and Edi Gathegi (Twilight, X-Men: First Class) will be Michael Holt a.k.a. Mister Terrific. (The use of Mister Terrific in other media might confirm why Echo Kellum’s Arrow character was “Curtis Holt” instead).

One additional thought: Is the use of characters who have always been with DC a sign that The Authority might not be showing up in this film after all? Especially with the inclusion of Hawkgirl, who is very similar to the Authority character Swift… we shall see.

You can read the original Vanity Fair report here. Superman: Legacy starring David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan is due out in 2025.
