Supergirl Season 2 Spoilers: New Roles Being Cast

Superman isn’t the only new character being cast for Supergirl Season 2, premiering this Fall on The CW.

According to TV Line, the following roles are now being cast for the second season. First, the two new series regular roles:

lenalenaLena Luthor (Between ages 25-35) – TV Line says that Lena arrives in town to get out from under the shadow of her infamous brother. She’s described as “sexy and smart and determined to get what she wants.” TV Line mentions, though, that her intentions are unclear. On Smallville, the character of Tess Mercer was the closest we’d get to a character like that.

Nick Farrow – A “brash leading man” who butts heads with Kara at CatCo. TV Line notes that he is the son of a famous reporter, looking to make a name for himself in the news world but the question of whether he can leave behind his former selfish and hedonistic ways will constantly arise. “In hanging out with Kara, the hero in Nick might finally come out,” they say.

The other new roles are recurring:

The Doctor – The “diabolical female leader” of Project Cadmus. She uses her surgical skills to implant prisoners with alien technology.

Snapper Carr – Not the Justice League sidekick, but instead a veteran journalist that Cat appoints to remake the news division by going old school.

Maggie (surely Maggie Sawyer) – An “out and proud detective” for the newly formed Science Police which deals with metahuman and alien threats. A rival organization for the DEO?

Not discussed by TV Line: Is Calista Flockhart signed to return yet, and if so, for how long? You can read their original scoop here.
