Smallville Veteran John Litvack Has Passed Away

Former television executive John Litvack, whose career involved overseeing programming for dozens of hits over the years, including Smallville, has passed away at 69.

He died March 21 from respiratory failure, a complication from cardiac surgery that he had earlier this year.

Following his last executive job at The WB network, Litvack joined Smallville, first as a consulting producer for Season 4 and as a co-executive producer from Seasons 5-7. Litvack was the father of Cameron Litvack, who wrote the Season 1 Smallville episode “Reaper.” You could see Mr. Litvack in the “Inside The Writers’ Room” feature on the Season 4 DVD set.

Our sympathy goes to those who were his friends, family, and coworkers on their loss.
