The
Search For The Ultimate Smallville Fan Continues!
A
few weeks ago, we first posted about an "Search For The
Ultimate Smallville Fan" featurette for the Season
Six DVD set.
We
spoke to RetroFit Films' Tanner Kling about the Ultimate Smallville
Fan contest and feature, for some more details for you, because
it's not too late to enter and make your mark on Smallville
history!
Here's
what Tanner had to say in an interview with KryptonSite's Craig
Byrne. Our questions are in bold, Tanner's answers are not.
How
has the turnout been for videos so far?
The videos
are definitely coming in, however, we are looking for MANY more
submissions to find the ultimate fans. Fans should know that
by simply submitting a video, their chances of being incorporated
into the Smallville DVD box are really good! Theres really
nothing to lose, they just have to be creative and go for it!
You have until January 17th to send in your submissions by email,
upload, or snail mail.
Some
people may be afraid of the 15 second limit. What do you have
to say to those people?
Whats
to be afraid of? Try sitting down and watching them all... now
thats something to be fearful of! In all seriousness though,
we felt that by making it short it helps to even out the playing
field a bit as some folks may be more technically savvy then
others. It forces everyone to put in more personality, and thats
what were really looking for! We feel that the time restriction
will encourage fans to be focused and as deliberate as possible
with their videos.
How do people enter?
They really
just have to follow the directions on
the website and upload them directly. Since the file size
should be small enough, people can also e-mail them. If they
cant or dont want to submit their video via the
internet, they can just pop it in the mail.
What
do winning submissions get as a prize?
There really
are no winning submissions. But the most popular
ones will definitely get their moment in the sun! We will be
flying around the country with a small documentary crew to meet
the top 3 submissions in their hometowns. We want to hear about
their favorite Smallville moments, and about what draws them
to the show. Its not every show that has such loyal fans, and
we wanted to record for posterity how much they rock!
Besides
seeing the fans on the featurette, will there be any other surprises
involved?
There is
a list of what fans can expect on the website. As well as, there
is a list of things fans won't be expecting, but thats
why theyre called surprises.
How long
will the finished documentary be?
15 seconds!
(Just kidding!) But really, it should be about 15-20 minutes
long. Well be filming at the Phoenix Comicon later this
month to see what we can find, and to really try to get a feel
for how amazing the Smallville and the Superman fan base really
is. Hope to see you all there!

And
