Melissa Benoist & Supergirl Get Saturn Awards

Melissa Benoist and Supergirl were honored last night at the 43rd Saturn Awards, honoring the best in science fiction, fantasy, horror and other genres in film, television, home media releases, and theatre in 2016 and early 2017.

Melissa took home the win for Best Actress on Television, beating out such big names as Caitriona Balfe (Outlander), Kim Dickens (Fear the Walking Dead), Vera Farmiga (Bates Motel), Lena Headey (Game of Thrones), Sarah Paulson (American Horror Story: Roanoke), and Winona Ryder (Stranger Things).

But that’s not all!

Supergirl as a series won Best Superhero Adaptation Television Series!

The show was also nominated in other categories but didn’t win. Those nominations included Mehcad Brooks (James) as Best Supporting Actor and Tyler Hoechlin for Best Guest Performance (as Superman).

Congratulations Melissa and Supergirl!
