Syfy’s putting a date on the premiere of their epic drama about Superman’s Grandpa.
The Krypton trailer — which sounds the same as the one that leaked and was quickly wiped from the internet a few weeks back — was shown this morning at the NBCUniversal Upfront, and now, Syfy’s Krypton page announces a premiere date: 2018. We’ve got a while to go yet, and hopefully that means Early 2018 rather than Late 2018. In any event, it’ll be coming our way faster than Booster Gold ever did!
Here’s how they describe the show. If you want to talk or speculate about Krypton, our forum for discussing it is now set up!
Set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet, Krypton follows Superman’s grandfather (Cameron Cuffe, The Halcyon) — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos.
Based on DC characters, Krypton is executive produced by David S. Goyer (Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Dark Knight trilogy). Damian Kindler (Sleepy Hollow) will serve as executive producer and showrunner.
Krypton stars Cameron Cuffe, Georgina Campbell, Elliot Cowan, Ann Ogbomo, Rasmus Hardiker, Wallis Day, Aaron Pierre, and Ian McElhinney.
