Krypton Adds Game Of Thrones Actor As Jax-Ur

Hannah Waddingham (Game of Thrones) is joining Syfy’s Krypton in the recurring role of Jax-Ur, a character who in the comics has been traditionally male.

Here’s how the TV version of the character is described:

Formerly one of Krypton’s greatest scientists with deep ties to Krypton’s past, Jax-Ur is now determined to bring radical change to Krypton as leader of the underground terrorist organization, Black Zero.

Hellboy’s Ron Perlman voiced the character of Jax-Ur in Superman: The Animated Series. Mackenzie Gray played the role on Man of Steel. Classic “Jimmy Olsen played the similarly named Dax-Ur on Smallville.

Krypton is a 10-episode drama premiering on Syfy March 21. The showreveals a chapter of the DC Universe that has rarely been told. Years before the Superman legend we know, the House of El was shamed and ostracized. This one-hour drama follows the Man of Steel’s grandfather as he brings hope and equality to Krypton, turning a planet in disarray into one worthy of giving birth to the greatest Super Hero ever known.

The series stars Cameron Cuffe, Georgina Campbell, Shaun Sipos, Elliot Cowan, Ann Ogbomo, Rasmus Hardiker, Wallis Day, Aaron Pierre, Blake Ritson and Ian McElhinney.
