First Look Photo: Nicole Maines As Trans Superhero Dreamer

The CW has released a first look at Nicole Maines as “Dreamer,” broadcast television’s first transgender superhero. The Supergirl episode “Blood Memory” (airing January 27) is where we will learn more about Nia’s backstory and how she came to get her powers and what troubles come with them, and by the end of the episode we will get a glimpse at the costume. She will fully suit up in Episode #4.12 “Menagerie” which airs February 17.

Supergirl airs Sunday nights on The CW; you can see more photos from “Blood Memory” here. New episodes of the series resume this coming Sunday, January 20 with an installment called “Suspicious Minds.”

You can see Nia in costume as “Dreamer” below; as you can see, they went more for the Mockingbird/XS look and less of the Legion of Super-Heroes “Dream Girl” design.
