DC Comics To Launch Supergirl Digital Comic Series

Sterling Gates, whose Supergirl comics were among the best of the past decade, will be writing a digital-first Adventures of Supergirl comic series for DC Comics, IGN has revealed. You can see some artwork to the right.

IGN says that the series will be drawn by a cast of rotating artists including Bengal, Jonboy Meyers, Emanuela Lupacchino, and Emma Vieceli. Bengal will be penciling, inking, and coloring the first three chapters.

Additionally, IGN says this about the presentation:

This 13-chapter, bi-weekly comic will release on Mondays, which just happens to be the same day the show airs on CBS. It won’t directly tie into the show, but will tell stories in that universe with Supergirl teaming with the DEO to protect National City while also working a job at CatCo as Kara Danvers. DC also told us that she will take on classic villains like Rampage, Vril Dox, and Psi.

Sadly,  Adventures of Supergirl, which launches January 25, will not be printed as individual monthly comics afterward; instead, it will go out as a graphic novel collection.
