Paperback of the Week!
Though there have been exceptions, for the most part I have used
this section to recommend TPBs which concentrate on the modern,
post-Crisis verion of Superman. I believe, however, that I have
gone through the most important modern TPBs, so Im going to
go a different direction this week and next. Many of you think of
Superman as he was in the Silver Age, so we are going to take a
trip back to the Silver Age with this weeks TPB. This week
we look at a collection of Superman stories from the 60s, the heart
of the Silver Age. These stories are from the time of Superboy,
Superbaby, Supergirl, and the idea of recycling stories. Dont
expect originality, because most of these stories were originally
told in the late forties and early fifties. But this is the time
of innocence in comics which many
readers look back on nostalgically. So heres your chance to
get a taste of what the Silver Age Superman was all about.
