Supergirl Season 6 will be the final season for the show, it was announced today by the studio and the network.
Unless anything changes, the final season of Supergirl will comprise of 20 episodes which will begin production soon. The show began on CBS in 2015 before moving to The CW in 2016; the final season of the Melissa Benoist-starring series will premiere in 2021. With Melissa being a new mother and the ever-growing number of DC shows on The CW, including the upcoming Superman & Lois, we can’t say that this is a complete shock. Hopefully, though, some of the characters will see life on the other various series in what we still refuse to call the “CW-verse.”
Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist, Chyler Leigh, Katie McGrath, Jesse Rath, Nicole Maines, Azie Tesfai, Andrea Brooks, Julie Gonzalo, Staz Nair and David Harewood, with special guest star Jon Cryer. Based on characters from DC created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, SUPERGIRL is from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Robert Rovner, Jessica Queller and Rob Wright. Stay tuned to KryptonSite for more details about Season 6 as they become available.

No surprise as some of us predicted Supergirl would end either in Season 6 or 7. I can see Melissa focusing on her family and moving on to other projects. Same with the rest of the cast, though I can picture a couple of them in Superman and Lois.
Terrible news!
First my 'Siren' and now my 'Supergirl' not happy!
