Before he was the world’s snarkiest vampire Damon Salvatore on The Vampire Diaries, Ian Somerhalder appeared in five episodes of Smallville Season 3 as “Adam Knight,” a character who many initially thought might be Bruce Wayne in disguise. (A 2003 KryptonSite April Fool didn’t help matters.)
Of course, Adam was not Bruce Wayne after all, and we never did end up meeting Bruce on the series… but still, the Adam arc was an important part of early Smallville. And thus, he’s still a part of the “family.”
Michael Rosenbaum (Smallville’s Lex Luthor) this weekend posted a photo from Wizard World Chicago convention, which reunited himself with Tom Welling (Clark Kent) and Ian Somerhalder, in what was possibly the first time the three of them have been in the same place since 2003 or 2004.
Our thanks to Michael for sharing this picture. Does anyone know if it came up that Lex Luthor and Damon Salvatore have the same brother? It’s true: Paul Wesley, who called himself “Paul Wasilewski” back in the day, was Lucas Dunleavy-Luthor in the Smallville episode “Prodigal;” he later starred opposite Somerhalder in every season of The Vampire Diaries.
