A Big Smallville Connection In Suicide Squad

Fans who stayed with Smallville to the end might have seen a familiar face in the new DC Comics-related film Suicide Squad…. and just like his role on the CW series, he played someone Squad-adjacent.

Ted Whittall, who played Suicide Squad leader Rick Flag in Smallville Season 10, shared many scenes with Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller in the new film which is now in theaters, as “Admiral Olsen” (no relation to Jimmy, we’d imagine). Whittall was even involved in scenes involving the movie’s Rick Flag.

Whittall played a different character in the best-left-forgotten Smallville episode “Power,” too, and later played Kristin Kreuk’s father in Beauty and the Beast.

His presence in Suicide Squad made us happy, though, much in the way the “Dr. Emil Hamilton” scene in Man of Steel did.

Suicide Squad is now in theaters.
