#6 Heroes: The Complete First Season
DVD Set From Universal Home Video - Order it
Also available in other formats: HD-DVD
Fans in the United Kingdom can purchase the DVD here

Some of the talented folks from Smallville's past, including Greg Beeman, Michael Green, and Jeph Loeb, did a little series for NBC about some other ordinary people with extraordinary powers. Perhaps you've heard of it. Either way, the Heroes first season DVD set includes a dozen commentaries, Tim Kring's "original cut" of the series pilot, and much more. Did we mention the show is pretty darn good?

#7 Green Arrow & Black Canary: For Better Or For Worse
Book From DC Comics - Order it
Fans in the United Kingdom can purchase the book here

Fans of Smallville are familiar with the Green Arrow, but those not into the comics may not know of his long-standing relationship with Dinah Lance, a.k.a. the Black Canary. This DC Comics trade paperback reprints some of the best stories of their "romance" from the 1960s to the present. It's a great way to look at Green Arrow's four-color past, but it might also offer some clues as to what's coming in his character's Smallville future.

#8 Doctor Who: The Complete Third Series
DVD Set From Warner Home Video - Order it
Fans in the United Kingdom can purchase the DVD here

Worried that the writers' strike will keep you in rerun heck for a while? Fortunately, the Doctor is in.

Doctor Who is a British television series about an alien who travels through time and space and runs into great adventure. His third "series" (what they call seasons across the pond) teams The Doctor up with a woman who is training to be a [medical] doctor herself, by the name of Martha Jones.

The thirteen episodes include guest shots from such actors as Mark Gatiss, Sir Derek Jacobi, John Simm (Life On Mars), and John Barrowman (Torchwood), and lead actors David Tennant and Freema Agyeman are a joy to watch. This is one of KryptonSite Craig's favorite shows, and this DVD might show you why.

#9 The Batman: The Complete Fourth Season
DVD Set From Warner Home Video - Order it

The Batman started off as, well, kind of bad, especially when compared to the superb Batman animated series of the 1990's.

Fortunately somewhere along the way the show got some new writers, and the most recent result is the fourth season, now on DVD.

Fans of Smallville will enjoy hearing Allison Mack do a guest voice in an episode also featuring voice work from Superman Returns' Brandon Routh. The season also includes the introduction of Robin to the series, and shares many themes and characters with Smallville, including John Jones, the Martian Manhunter and the Justice League.

#10 Supernatural: The Complete Second Season
DVD Set From Warner Home Video - Order it
Fans in the United Kingdom can purchase the DVD here

Smallville's Thursday-night companion series on The CW, Supernatural, features the adventures of brothers Sam and Dean Winchester as they deal with demons and other strange occurrences as they travel in their classic car.

Dean might be recognizable, as he is played by Jensen Ackles, who played Jason Teague in Season 4 of Smallville. Either way, a lot of people who love Smallville love Supernatural, so perhaps anyone who gets this as a gift would too! (Hint: It's on Craig's wish list too...)
