More fun from July 1995, seeing more of what went on in L&C fandom during that summer.

These issues featured the debate of whether or not Lois and Clark should have sex before marriage. This was before the revelation that Clark was a "very patient man."

KRYPTON CLUB NEWSLETTER****ISSUE #26****JULY 12, 1995
*****SUPERMAN92 AND CRAIG BYRNE, PRESIDENTS****
"HOLD THE ELEVATOR!"

WELCOME!
Welcome to new members Ellen, Sun8880, and Lana Kim! Welcome to the Krypton
Club! Every Sunday and Thursday (and, for this week, every weekday) you
will find the latest in L&C information. You'll also be able to find neat
L&C polls and features, as well as a weekly L&C fanfic. You're encouraged
to participate, since the Krypton Club newsletter is completely interactive!

DEAN ON THE COVER OF TV GUIDE!
TV Guide's feature of "Next Week in TV Guide" seems to say that Dean Cain
will be the main feature of next week's issue... meaning there is a VERY
good chance Dean will be on the cover. After four covers spotlighting the
Power Rangers, at least two covers featuring the Judds, and covers featuring
child molestors like Michael Jackson it is good to see that TV Guide has
finally wised up. One question, though.... where's Teri?

SPECIAL NOTES
Just a reminder that the Krypton Club newsletter is once again daily... just for this week. Next week it will go back to it's regular Sunday-and-Thursday format. Each weekday this week there will be something to look forward to; each day there will be a character analysis of each L&C character, as we see how the characters have changed since the start of "L&C." Yesterday spotlighted Clark, today spotlights Jimmy.... expect to read about Perry and Clark's parents later this week!

This week is also something to celebrate because as of today, filming
hasbegun for "Lois & Clark"'s third season.... and that means it'll be about
two months and all of the LCWS will be over (YES!!!!!)

So don't be confused, and we hope you all are enjoying the Krypton Club.
*************
Several people have still been having trouble getting their copies of the
Krypton Club Newsletter. To help remedy this situation, several newsletters
will be sent from the old AOL address. If in any event you have been
receiving TWO copies of the Krypton newsletter, write us about that as well.
=^) Still, remember to tell us if you miss your newsletters for some reason
(and just a note--there was no Sun. 7/9 newsletter). Those of you who have
missed newsletters will be getting those VERY soon.
*************
AOLers may have to open their mail window to its full extent to see more even
lines in the L&C newsletter. If they don't feel like doing that, they can
always print this up =^)

Noticeably the newsletters have been coming out late into the night.... we
are really sorry for this, we've been busy.

JIMMY OLSEN'S BLUES
By Dan Patterson(Superman92)

No character on Lois and Clark has gone through more changes than Jimmy
Olsen. An aspiring photograper in the first season, Jimmy struggled to get
Perry White to give him a chance. After confronting the Chief, he became one
of the best photographers on the Daily Planet and a very good friend of
Perry. Such a good friend, in fact, that Perry would often refer to Jimmy as
his son. They became very close and when Jimmy was going through rough times
after the Daily Planet was blown up, Perry was very worried about him. By
the end of the first season, the Chief was treating Jimmy with respect and
also like he was a member of the family.
The drastic change came in the second season when Micheal Landes was
replaced by Justin Whalin. While there is really no solid explanation for
this, ABC stated that, "Michael Landes looked too much like Dean Cain." When
Justin Whalin took over as Jimmy, many changes took place in the character.
Many of these changes were due to the fact that many writers were replaced
on Lois and Clark. Jimmy went from a clean cut cute guy in jeans, to a
"cool" guy in flannel shirts, cowboy boots, and a cowboy belt. The
relationship between the Chief and Jimmy also seemed to fade away. It wasn't
until nearly the end of the second season that the two were back to the
position they were at the end of the first season. The
chemistry(non-romantic) between Lane Smith and Michael Landes was lost in the
switch, although Justin Whalin has gotten better over the course of the
second season. The scenes with Jimmy and Perry became very rare in the
second season with much more focus on Lois and Clark. While the actors have
changed, one thing is certain: Jimmy Olsen will always remain the ultimate
supporting character and an intelligent photographer who always seems to find
trouble.

Here is the question for today.....

Which president did Lane Smith play in an Emmy-winning TV-movie?

The answer to yesterday's trivia question: Cat Grant and "the real" Jimmy
Olsen were distant relatives. MarthaRB, Mary Lou G. Moore, Soundsquaw,
Katie7729, Monique Hebert, Lori Gorsch, Lisa Freedman, Mark Safransky, and
JBecky got it right. OurCousin guessed that Perry and Jimmy are distantly
related. Send your answers and trivia guesses!

To: Krypton92

Hello Dan and Craig,

Great newletter as usual.

I liked the critique you did on Lois, it was right on the mark.

I also agree with you 100% on your opinion about Clark and Lois sleeping
together before they get married. I agree that Superman/Clark represents a
very moral character and that this would be totally out of character for him.
I know that we have discussed this issue at length in posts and I know that
everyone has their own view. I feel that it would be refreshing to see
someone on television wait for once. Also as a mom of 2 children who are
also big fans, I would like to see them wait. There are not too many family
shows that you can watch together as a family, this show is one of the
exceptions and I would like to see it remain that way.
You can have romance, but that does not mean you need to deal with the
pre-marital sex issue.

Well, I'll get off my soapbox now, ;)

Thanks for letting me share my views, and keep up the good work!!!

Monique Hebert

[Thank you for your complements Monique. You also raised the excellent
point that the show if very family oriented.--Superman92]

Subj: Lois and Clark
Date: 95-07-11 20:05:11 EDT
From: Meredith66
To: Krypton FX

Dear Craig,
I was reading the awesome newsletter, when something kind of disturbed
me. What's with the big discussion on Lois and Clark sleeping together?
Their romance has nothing to do with them having sex. Futhermore, what
makes you think the writers would show that kind of thing? I fully agree
with your point of having everyone keep their morals, but I don't think it's
going to be problem. This whole concept brings back memories of
Moonlighting. The whole time it was compared to Lois and Clark it really
bothered me. The reason being, Moonlighting shows slighty different things.
When the romance started between those characters the show went down hill,
but that is definitly NOT the kind of romance on Lois and Clark. With all
the horrible things the writers could be doing I suggest you get your mind
out of the gutter. Think of more likely things they'd show. Like Lois not
figuring out the Clark's Superman...that would worry me more then their sex
life. Just wanted to share :)

And, just to prove that we don't only print the letters that agree with us,
we have this letter......

Subj: L&C should go for it!
Date: 95-07-11 23:21:14 EDT
From: JLerebours
To: Krypton92

Dear: Superman92

This is in response to "Man of Steel...Man of Morals?

While I understand where you are coming from I must say that I disagree with
your opinion about Lois and Clark, I believe that they should sleep together
before they are married. I don't think there is anything immoral about two
consenting adults who love each other expressing that love by sleeping
together. It's not like this would be a one night stand, had the powers that
be had allowed Clark to sleep with Cat Grant in the first season then I would
agree with you that the writers were destroying the moral character of
Superman. BUT this is Lois Lane we are talking about, the woman he has been
in love with since he came to the Daily Planet (that was over two years ago)
and the woman he had dreamt about being with ( In Phermone My Lovely when
Lois came to his apartment and did the dance with the seven veils he said
"I've dreamt about this....). I think it is the next logical step in their
relationship to have the two characters consummate their love. After all,
both of these characters have finally met the love of their lives. They are
best friends, colleagues, partners, and equals the next logical step is for
them to become lovers.

I also disagre with your belief that having Superman rob the jewelry store in
"And the Answer Is" made him seem immoral. The Kents are the only family
that Superman has, the only people who love him unconditionally. There are
very few people in this world that we can say truly love us, totally and
unconditionally, to have Clark not rob the jewelry store and possibly having
that result in the death of Pa and Ma Kent would in my mind make Clark seem
like and ungrateful wretch. The Kents have loved Clark, protected him and
supported him since he was a helpless baby, and now when they needed his help
the most some believe that he should turn his back to them. I think that
would have been the immoral act. Having Superman go against his conscious
and his character in order to save his parents made me admire him more. It
made him seem more real to me and emphasized the fact that "Clark is who his
and Superman is what he can do.

P.S. In the movie (Superman 2) Clark and Lois did sleep together after he
gave up his Super powers to be with her.

HOUND DOG By JBecky and Superman92
Of all the characters on Lois and Clark, none has stayed as consistent
an unchanging as Perry White. As Editor-In-Chief of the Daily Planet, he is
more than an editor to his 'family' there. Always willing to offer advice and Elvis stories, he is always there for Jimmy, Clark, Lois, and the rest of the Daily Planet Staff. "Great
Shades of Elvis!" Even to those who didn't always 'fit in', like Cat. A
work-a-holic, the Chief always puts the paper to bed, before he goes home to
his (unseen) wife, Alice. Even in a time of crisis, such as when they
thought Clark was dead, Perry insisted on finishing the paper. As a devoted
familyman, his life is complete with a wife and children.
Lane Smith brings depth to his character, a new move to the Superman
set. Hopefully in this 3rd season of Lois and Clark Lane Smith will be in
more episodes. During the first season he was a major role player in the
plots, but in the second season his parts became few and far between. His
character was played down, to the disapproval of some fans. In the last five
episodes of Lois and Clark, Perry has played the match-maker and an observer
of Lois and Clark's relationship. He is always offering advice to Clark such
as in Strange Visitor: '"Fools rush in son, fools rush in."' And he also
gave Clark some advice about Dan Scardino: '"It seems like this.... Scardino
character already has one paw in the chicken coop!"' And one of our personal
favorite tid-bits of advice: '"I think you're doing too much thinking and not
enough doing."
This upcoming season, we hope to see Perry White become more involved in
his stories, such as in Individual Responsiblity. he played a MacGyver of
sorts, saving himself and getting the scoop. The more involved he is in the
plots, the better the show gets. Let's hope the producers and people at Lois
and Clark realize what a crucial role Perry White is to the show. One thing
is certain, Perry White truly is "The King!"

L&C MERCHANDISE IS COMING!?! by Craig Byrne
Krypton Club co-president Craig Byrne (hey! that's me!) decided to make a
trip to the local WB store last night... and found out some REALLY good
news. I asked the guy at the register (who was apparently the manager)
about L&C merchandise, and he says that he has heard that there will be L&C
merchandise in the fall. For now, though, we will just have to be content
with the Superman baseball caps. =^p

TODAY'S TRIVIA
Here is the question for today.....

Which L&C cast members have died before in movie appearances? Name the
actor/actress, and which movie they died in.

The answer to yesterday's trivia question: Lane Smith played former
president Richard Nixon in an Emmy-winning TV-movie. Kal-El, Krypto29,
JLerebours, Lisa Freedman, Tommy Terenyi, Pontellier, Turk152, XFMulder1, Ad
VanCian, Gudge2, and Allison Roth got it right. An interesting side-note is
that Krypton co-president Craig was playing "Trivial Pursuit" (TV edition,
naturally) and the same question came up... and of course Craig knew that
the Chief didn't look like Ronald Reagan! <G>

I don't know which president Lane Smith played. I don't even have a
guess.

Hey you forgot to mention where the QUOTE was from. I like to
try to guess who said it and the episode before I read your newsletter.
Was it Jimmy when he was running from Lois after he booby trapped
her desk? I think it was one of the Prankster episodes, but I'm not
sure. Am I right?

Also, BTW, I'm really enjoying Tale of Two Jimmies!

In your July 13 newsletter, you referred to Michael Jackson as a " child
molester" I have enjoyed reading your newsletter up to this point, But... I
don't agree with you imposing that type of judgment on people without having
all the facts. I hope from now on we'll be concentrating on more positive
issues such as "will Lois say Yes???" :)
Jim Boogie @aol.com

[Okie, dokie... we won't impose judgement on people anymore... (by the way,
O.J. did it... just kidding.) It was a joke, but we'll refrain from that in

IT'S FINALLY OVER!
Krypton Anniversary Week is finally over. Starting next week, look for the
newsletter to go back to it's regular Sunday-and-Thursday format. Thanks
for your patience on the late newsletters; we're sorry it happened.

THE WORLD'S BEST.... by JBecky
When Clark Kent first discovered his powers, he only had two people to turn
to. Two people to help him though those tough teen years, made tougher by
his strengths and powers developing. Those two people were the people who
discovered him, as an infant, in a spaceship. Jonathan and Martha Kent,
played by Eddie Jones and K Callan, were always available for Clark, and
eventually, Lois.

Jonathan is the mild-mannered one (probably where CK got it) and Martha is
the one who speaks her mind, getting involved with new things. Taking adult
education classes, creating 'intresting' artistic creations, and quoting
Freud. They really aren't that far out from Metropolis life, though, and
just in general, are real nice folks.

We came to know Clark's (Earth) parents as our own, dubbing them Ma and Pa,
they became the folks we always wished we'd had. They are the center, secure
part of Clark's life, proving that he really is just a farm boy from Kansas.

Clark was raised well. How else could he have become a such a sweethearted
superhero? As Martha told Lois and Clark: "I know, that if I found a baby, I
would be the most grateful woman in the world." Clark's love for his mother
was proven when he told her "And the world's best mom."

Thank you, K and Eddie, for giving us Ma and Pa, and moments of joy.

L&C POLL #5

the majority, 57% of you, said that no, Lois and Clark should NOT sleep

DEAN CAIN IN OFF-CAMERA
This article came from the AP Entertainment News Wire. It was written by
Bridget Byrne (another Byrne who is not related to Craig!). Thanks to Lisa
Freedman for bringing this article to our attention.....

LOS ANGELES - Dressed like the average Hollywood gym rat in logo sports
clothes, sneakers and a backwards baseball cap, Dean Cain reveals a bit of
how he spends his time when not starring on "Lois & Clark: The New
Adventures of Superman."

He is returning to his Santa Monica "Off Camera" production company
after a lunchtime workout. With the company's first TV special airing July
31, viewers will get an even closer look at how the young actor has been
spending his free time.

On "Off Camera With Dean Cain," a one hour ABC special, Cain offers
energetic, light-hearted look at how some celebrities truly spend their time
off. Cain is the host, executive producer, writer and director of the
special.

"Off Camera with Dean Cain" is a sort of romper room version of the
celebrity interview with Cain participating in the assorted activities and
addressing the camera in a casual, confident, just-passing-through manner.
Cain came up with the idea after noting that when giving interviews he
is invariably asked, "What do you do in your spare time?" It's a question
that all stars are asked and one that all answer honestly, says Cain.
"I think you will get a glimpse of people which you don't get to see in
other interviews or talk shows when the stars are often selling something
and are guarded, preserving an image or only being asked to relate to the
character they are portraying," says the actor, who turns 29 on the day the
special airs.

Cain and members of his production company, many of whom are friends
from his college days at Princeton, began to develop the concept 3 years
ago, before Can became know as Clark Kent, or, Superman. They created a
15-minute presentation, which earned them a deal with the cable company.
But that ran out of steam over disagreements as to which stars should be in
the special. Once Cain began earning his Superman money he was able to
invest in re-editing the presentation, changing the ton and adding music.
Instantly he was able to secure a deal with ABC. Shooting the project took
about 7 months, mainly because Cain, ironically, had little leisure from his
Superman duties.

While many of Cain's participatory interviews meant breaking a sweat,
that wasn't too great of a discomfort for the former All-American football
star. Cain was signed by the Buffalo Bills but injured his knee before he
got a chance to play professionally.

Some of the rigors of the special include Cain playing soccer goalie
against "Melrose Place" star Andrew Shue's left kick, skiing the slopes with
Debbe Dunning, "Tool Time" girl from "Home Improvement," and diving for
balls with the glamorous volleyball pro, Gabrielle Reece. Viewers will also
see Daphne Zuniga of "Melrose Place" gunning a motorbike through the
California canyons and Matthew Fox of "Party of 5" trying to catch fish in a
Californian stream.

Other celebrities at leisure on the show include Holly Robinson and NBA
Rookie of the Year, Chris Webber..

Cain, whose father Christopher is a movie director, says he isn't
giving up acting as his main profession but does enjoy dabbling behind the
scenes. He wrote the Christmas episode of "Lois & Clark " in which, after
several diversions and complications, the duo ended up together around Lois'
forlorn little tree. He will continue to write upcoming episodes and is
particularly interested, both as writer and actor, in contributing to the
"emotional and physical" development of the central relationship between the
pair, which could get interesting, he says.

Last season the series ended with Clark on one knee proposing to Lois.
Where that will lead Cain won't be specific beyond saying, "We are going
into uncharted territory which will definitely show that Lois is not quite
as stupid as people think."

L&C POLL #6
This one's short and simple: Should Clark tell Lois that he is Superman as
soon as possible, or should Clark wait until later?

Tell us what you think by writing in!

TODAY'S QUOTE
Today's quote came from "Tempus Fugitive" (which is probably the best ep. of
L&C as far as quotes go).

L&C SIGHTINGS
The man who played Rollie Vale in the episode Metallo had a role in the
summer hit Apollo 13. He played one of the NASA medical experts who
diagnosed the character played by Gary Senise and told him he was going to
get measles. He is most recognizable by his red hair and glasses.

PROOF THAT THE L&C KRYPTON CLUB CARES....
We hope that Monique Hebert's knee and Lisa Freedman's ankle are feeling
better. Also, we'd like to welcome Avigael4LC back from vacation and wish a
belated "happy birthday" to Ryan Turner.

=====KRYPTON CLUB PROFILE: SUEY AMC=====
Screen name: SueY AMC
Real name: My real name is Chizuru, and most people I encounter have
difficulty pronouncing it right. So I go by Sue.
Current residence: Santa Clara, CA., about one mile east from Sunnyvale city
limit. I learned that Teri was from Sunnyvale only about a month ago at a
local farm stand. I shop cherries at this stand, which is very well known to
local residents. And they had a new L&C 8x10, autographed! I asked the
farmer's wife who stopped by, and she told me that Teri did, and that she
went to Fremont High. I drive by that high school all the time!
Sunday night family activity: I have two boys. Almost 5 and almost 3. We
all sit down in front of TV at 8 PM to watch L&C. I am totally hooked on the
love story. And the boys like the show for Supe's adventures. My husband is
there, too. But I do not think that he is very much hooked on the show.
My regrets: Why didn't I get hooked during the first season? I only watched
some eps during the first season. I don't even remember what the other Jimmy
looked like.
Favorite eps: Tempus Fugitive, And the Answer is...
Favorite quote: My mother made it for me. Fortunately, there is no doors
here tonight. If anything happens, tell Clark that I love him.
hobbies: L&C, of course. I also like to bake muffins/cakes, snow skiing,
and watch All My Children. Before kids, I used to enjoy scuba diving a lot.
birthday: July 10.

TODAY'S TRIVIA
Here is the question for today.....

Which "Lois Lane" of the past has guest-starred on "L&C" before?

The answer to Friday's trivia question: The Resplendent Man's full name was
William Wallace Webster Walldecker. LDMECO, Nancy Lemieux, Lisa Freedman,
Brearley, Mr. Fiz, Jenn Farwell, No1 BRET, XFMulder1, and Clark XX got this
right. Clark XX also brought up that he thought we had used the trivia
question before. You know what, XX? I think you were right... JBecky and
Lori Gorsch got 3 of W4's names right.

Subj: L & C sleeping together

To: Krypton92

I would say 'no' sleeping together. Their relationship is still developing
and if they 'did it' what would be left for them to do or talk about that
they haven't yet done.
That would be a 'big mistake' on the shows part.
So I say 'NO WAY' they don't seem to be those types of people ----- and they
shouldn't be. Until they are married ---- if they are actually ever married.

Also I think it's about time Clark tells Lois he's Superman. I think she
probably already knows BUT is waiting for Clark to come out and tell her. If
he doesn't --- she won't marry him until she knows he's been completely
honest with her. He owe's her some respect and if she marries him ---- she
will find out because what's he gonna do ???? ..... keep his glasses on
forever. They make a perfect couple and I'd hate to see that all go to waste.

Thanks for your time,

Hey Guys,

I am relatively new to AOL and the newsletter. KUDOS on a terrific job, BTW.

Anyway...Clark Kent would never sleep with a woman that he was not honest
with about his true identity (in my own humble opinion). He is not a cad.
To sleep with Lois - who is his one TRUE love - Clark will have to tell her
the truth first. Putting all other things aside, IF there is a revelation
at the start of season #3, I think Lois and Clark deserve to finally express
their truest feeling for each other in the most beautiful way possible -
making love! Without a revelation - NO WAY. I would lose all faith in CK,
and the writers.

Thanks for taking the edge off LCWS!!!

Hey Krypton Gang, I believe Resplendant Man's name was William Wallace
Webster Waldecker or something like that. Anyway, in the who got killed in
the movies list, I had all the ones you mentioned as well as Tracy Scroggins
in "Dollman vs. the Demonic Toys" from Full Moon Pictures and I believe Eddie
Jones died in "Sneakers" too. I haven't remembered any movies where Lane
Smith died so he might be lucky. K Callen hasn't died in the movies either,
as far as I can tell. Anyway, that's the best list I have so far. Also, did
anyone notice that the actress at the end of Cool Surface was Elisabeth
Barondes aka Lucy Lane from the 1st Season. Interesting, huh? Well, gotta
fly!

Mark Safransky (aka XFMulder1@aol.com)

[I meant to put Scoggins' "death" on the list... really... didn't know about
Jones, and of course I knew about Elizabeth Barondes' appearance in the
"Cool Surface".... --Craig, expert on all things Cool Surface]

DEAN CAIN: TV GUIDE INTERVIEW
The TV Guide Dean Cain interview transcript will be sent out in a seperate
mailing from this newsletter. This newsletter was long enough as it is.
Hope you understand. The sendout will come out tomorrow or Saturday.

Also, you may notice the lack of a member profile in this issue--it was only
done to make it shorter. Hope you understand. It will return in Sunday's
newsletter.

MARRYING DOOM? by Craig Byrne
In Diane Werts' article "Should Lois Marry Clark?" in the 7/23/95 issue of TV Guide, her opinion was that Lois and Clark should not get married--and they should NEVER be married. Ms. Werts pointed out several shows that "flopped" in the past because of two of the main characters getting hitched, but what she fails to mention are the shows that DID get by on a marriage.

In her article, Werts puts out the "Moonlighting" stereotype that has plagued "L&C" since its inception. Yes, "Moonlighting" did falter after the two main characters got together; but there was a reason for that. The entire basis of the show was the sexual tension between Maddie and David. Whereas, "Lois & Clark"'s basis is different. The 9/13/93 issue of TV Guide put it best:

"You know the Superman saga: Clark Kent is a superhero who'd like to
be normal, and Lois Lane is a normal girl who'd like to be a super-journalist."
Nowhere did it say "the two of them should never get together." You
knew when "L&C" premiered that someday, somehow, Lois and Clark would be
together. After all, they've been engaged in the comics since 1990, and
sales of the comics have not suffered; actually, the opposite has
happened--sales have picked up.

Werts also points out "Rhoda" as a comparison to a show that flopped
when the main character got married. There was a reason for that, too--one
of the things that made the character of Rhoda Morgenstern so funny and
entertaining on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" was the fact that she never had
a steady boyfriend, so she complained about it. When Rhoda married Joe
Gerard, things weren't fun anymore.

"Lois & Clark" WOULD be fun if "L&C" were married; actually it would
be more fun. It would be a super-powered "Hart to Hart." I can see it now.....

"This is my boss, Clark Kent, a Kryptonian-born super-hero... he's quite a guy."
"This is Mrs. K. She's gorgeous. She's one reporter who knows how to take
care of herself."
"By the way, my name is Jimmy.... I take care of both of them, which isn't
easy, because when they met... it was SUPER!"

Kidding aside, there have been several shows where the main
characters got hitched and the shows didn't suffer. Look at "Scarecrow &
Mrs. King." The two of them got hitched during it's next to final season.
The show would have lasted even longer, but the show had to be cancelled
because series star Kate Jackson developed cancer.

The TV series "Eight is Enough" began with Dick Van Patten and Diana
Hyland as husband-and-wife Tom and Joan Bradford. After only four episodes,
Hyland had passed away, so the show's premise was changed to make Van
Patten's character a widower raising eight children. When the show's second
season began Betty Buckley came in as Abby, and Abby and Tom eventually got
married, and the show was actually HELPED by the marriage.

Can you imagine a "Bewitched" without Darrin and Sam being married?
Sam's powers were what made the whole show fun. Imagine how much fun L&C's
marriage would be. (They could change the name of the show to "Married...
with Super-Powers." <G>)

Sure, there will be duds like the marriage of Mork and Mindy, but
you have to admit.... there really wasn't a reason FOR them to get married
in the first place. Lois and Clark love each other, and that should be all
that matters. It's worked in the comics in the past, and it can work on the
television show in the future. Let's see "Lois & Clark" TOGETHER!

"MY FABULOUS VACATION" by Cheereo

Subj: My Fabulous Vacation!(for newsletter)

From: Cheereeo
To: Superman92
CC: Krypton FX
Hey guys! I just got the spoiler newsletter! I am in complete suspense
for next season! Two months is sooooo long!!! But here's something that
might temporarily ease your LCWS. Last week, while my family and I were
vacationing in L.A., we took a tour of the Warner Bros. studio, where LnC is
filmed. It was the greatest tour I've ever taken! We saw tons of sets and
stars, but I'll only tell you about the LnC stuff, since that's the best.
As luck would have it, our tour guide (I forgot her name), who just
began working there a month ago, was a huge FOLC! When I told her about my
little obsession, she made a point to show us all we could possibly see of
LnC. Since we went on July 10, none of the stars were there yet. First, we
toured the four sound stages which the show uses (all other shows use only
one or two stages, but LnC is just so cool it gets four). We saw Lois's
apartment, which is very very tiny (stage #14). We also saw part of Clark's
apartment, which was a little bigger, but still much smaller than it looks
on TV. Next we went inside the Daily Planet (stage #19). That was great.
Jimmy's desk was covered with photos of random people, and some keys on
Clark's computer were missing. Perry's office looked unusually large, with
its plaid furniture and Elvis memorabilia. The elevators didn't actually
work, obviously, but just touching all the desks and being in that famous
room was so exciting!

Then we went into this garage type place (used in the end of Lucky
Leon). There we saw the Daily Planet car and Lois's car too! Since the door
was open, I sneaked in really quick (hey, Dean Cain sits in this car, OK?).
Parked next to it was the huge tanker that was used in the movie "Tango and
Cash," which Teri was in. From there we went to the prop room, where they
get allthe props for all the shows. I recognized the "Remmington horse" from
the magician episode, and all the perfume bottles from "Pheremone, My Lovely."
From there we went to "Metropolis street" and we saw the outside of
the Daily Planet (very small compared to on TV). Just in front of the Daily
Planet, was a new addition. In season 3, there will be a subway entrance
there (looks dumb, IMHO). In "Metropolis" we saw the Flourist's shop from
ATAI, the Bank from the Bonnie and Clyde ep., which was also Mazik's Jewels,
the court house where Mayson died, Star Labs, and the park where CK popped
the question. We also went inside the saloon from 1866, and western street,
where SM and his "clone" fought.

We took pictures of the outside of Lois's and Clark's apartments. BTW,
the outside of LL's apartment is also the outside of Dr. Ross's apartment
from "ER." And Dean and George Clooney are supposedly good friends, and play
basketball and practical jokes on co-stars frequently. We drove through the
Smallville wilderness, passed the lake where "Trask" tried to kill CK, and
saw the home of Ma & Pa. We also passed a *wedding* cake store which was
used in one of the two season premiers filmed last season (the one we all
hope to see).

The highlight of the trip came near the end. As we were leaving, we
saw the truck in which all the LnC stars' clothes were brought. The tour
guide persuaded the man in the truck yo let us in, and he did!!! We saw all
the Sman costumes, Clark's pants, shirts, ties, etc. BTW, CK wears Calvin
Klein underwear.

I think we saw the black shirt CK wore in ATAI. It was so silky and soft!
Anyway, after passing Dean and Teri's trailers, our tour was over :( Oh, one
more piece of info: It takes them 8 days to film one ep. They work all day
and only get about 5-8 minutes! Talk about tiring. But who would get tired
of working w/ Dean Cain or Teri Hatcher, right?: )

Now for the best part. . . A few days later, on July 13, at 3:44 PM,
the most amazing thing happened. We were on our way home, waiting at the
stoplight in the front entrance of WB studios, when I noticed a black car
near us. I mentioned how Dean Cain had a similar car, while my family moaned
and groaned about my "stupid obsession." I look over into the Nissan
Pathfinder, and who do I see but DEAN CAIN!!! I almost fainted. He was
waiting at the light, wearing a yellow shirt, adjusting a dial in the car,
talking to a passenger (male) whom I did not recognize. As the light turned
green, Dean went right, and we--brace yourself--went straight! I will never
forgive my father for doing that, believe me. But I guess I should just be
happy that I got to see him. I am, but I can't help wondering what would
have happened if we had followed that car. . .

Anyway, if you are still with me (sorry it was so long), thanx. And
hang in there with the LCWS!!!

Cheereeo ;-)

So why did we print this letter up here? Well, for starters, it's a
great letter that was lots of fun (if you have any WB stories, send 'em!)
Also, it leads up to an important announcement......

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!
There will be NO KRYPTON CLUB NEWSLETTER on Thursday, July 27, and there
possibly may not be one on Sunday, July 30. Why, you ask? The Krypton
Club's going on it's first-ever road trip! Krypton presidents Craig and
Dan, along with a buncha others who won't be named right now 'cause we're
afraid we'll forget somebody, will be headed to sunny L.A., Warner Brothers
to be exact, to catch a glimpse of "L&C!" We probably won't be able to see
anything too real or spectacular, but if we do, you can expect to see the
whole story in the Krypton Club Newsletter once we return!

Also, if you are planning on attending the San Diego Comic Convention,
e-mail Craig and maybe some FOLCs get together there too!

L&C POLL #6
This one's short and simple (but it's been reworded a bit): Should Lois find
out Clark is Superman?

Tell us what you think! You have until Saturday night, and the final results
will be posted on Sunday!

L&C SIGHTINGS
For his birthday, Dean Cain will be flying to NY to be on the talk shows on
hte East coast. He will be on Good Morning America and Regis and Kathy Lee.
He will then fly back home for a reception that his production company is
holding to celebrate the airing of "Off Camera."

PROOF THAT THE L&C KRYPTON CLUB CARES....
We hope that Kurt Barnett's broken left arm is feeling better, as well!

TODAY'S TRIVIA
Here is the question for today.....

In what Superman comic book did Clark propose to Lois, and what was her answer?

The answer to Sunday's trivia question: The "Lois Lane" of the past who's
guest-starred on "L&C" before was the Lois Lane from the first season or two
of the 1950's "Adventures of Superman," Phyllis Coates, who played Lois's
mother in "Fall of the House of Luthor." Michelle "Lois Lane" Henderson,
Avigael4lc, Lisa Freedman, Krypto29, Karen 7, CFind1955, Monique Hebert, and
BJPoirier got it right. An interesting piece of trivia is that like the
modern series having two Jimmy Olsens, the "Adventures of Superman" had two
Loises.

Send your answers and trivia guesses via e-mail!

From: Avigael4lc@aol.com

Thanks for welcoming me back,
The trivia answer is that it was Phyllis Coates who played Lois on the old TV
series.
Also, he should definitely 100% positive he should tell her that he is
Superman. I don't see how anyone, including TPTB could see any reason to keep
Lois in the dark about his identity any longer. The show could not progress
if Lois was still getting mad at clark for having to return his cheese of the
month subscription or whatever all the time. And they would also making her
out to be really stupid if she can't figure it out yet, with all the clues
that she's gotten. And they would be making Clark out to be dishonest,
because he should not propose to someone without trusting them with his
secret. He would have told her already if it wasn't for the unfortunate
ringing of the phone. At least, that's my opinion. Sorry for rambling a bit.
-Avigael
Also, for a brief note of interest, I was watching reruns of The Adventures
of Superman on Nick at Nite and in this episode, Clark, Lois, Jimmy and Perry
travel back in a time machine. I just thought that was interesting, since of
Tempus Fugitive and all.
[That's neat! Did you know that "All Shook Up" was based on the 1950's
episode "Panic in the Sky?" --Craig]

it after the Krypton Road Trip is over. Here are two clues as to who is
